The Aerial Academy can provide flight training and assessment at three UK locations.
Near Norwich: 0-7Kg and 7-20Kg
Near Stroud: 0-7Kg
Near Swansea: 7-20Kg
You are welcome to bring your own drone for flight training but we can provide equipment if you are still deciding what to buy. All our instructors are operational pilots and, as such, are well placed to advise on equipment purchases. Unless specifically requested our drone flight training courses have a maximum of two trainees per instructor. Training and assessment prices (per person):
Single day: £400 +VAT
Three days: £1100 +VAT
RPAS flight assessment (0-7Kg or 7-20Kg): £300+VAT
The CAA have stated that completing a 7-20Kg assessment allows you to apply for a 0-7Kg permission as well. So if you are intending to fly machines in both categories, you will only need to be assessed in the 7-20Kg category.
Our flight assessments are recognised by the Civil Aviation Authority as proof of pilot competence for the Initial Practical Flight Assessment Requirement critical element. For more details of the critical elements, please see here.
